Akitas are not for everyone and if you are thinking of an Akita as your next or even first breed make sure you research the breed there are many books which will help and give you lots of information on the Akita and it is advisable to talk to or visit experienced reputable breeders and see the dogs in their home enviroment and at shows if you are thinking of showing, no matter what breed of dog you choose whether it be for showing or a family pet don't be afraid to ask questions.
